New York, NY – April 17, 2013 – NTT DATA, Inc., a leading IT services provider, today announced that it has been selected by CareOne LTACH, New Jersey’s first licensed Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), for its Electronic Health Record solution. NTT DATA will host a full Optimum™ Acute Care Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in a Level 3 data center and support CareOne’s two long-term acute care hospitals, CareOne at Raritan Bay Medical Center and CareOne at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. CareOne’s selection of the Optimum EHR validates the need for sophisticated technologies designed specifically to meet the challenges of the post-acute care market.
A new federal requirement for Quality Reporting that went into effect for LTACHs on October 1, 2012 mandated significant changes to paper-based clinical record keeping. This mandate, along with The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), drives CareOne and other healthcare organizations to upgrade their existing clinical documentation systems, revenue cycle management (RCM) applications, and other healthcare technologies. In addition to supporting federal guidelines, the Optimum EHR solution from NTT DATA offers an intelligent platform with the flexibility to address future requirement compliance, as well as integration of patient information across the continuum of care.
“The fully integrated EHR, hosted in an NTT state-of-the-art cloud facility, will save us significant time and money,” said Sharon Bready, facility CEO of CareOne LTACH. “After a great deal of due diligence, we found that NTT DATA’s Optimum EHR provides the best web-based, integrated clinical and financial solutions to improve patient care and lower overall costs. NTT DATA has also been very responsive to our need for rapid deployment and support.”
“NTT DATA is well positioned to help our long-term acute care clients meet the changing demands of the healthcare industry. Our software, services, and delivery processes are designed to address the accelerating rate of change brought about by recent healthcare legislation and policy changes,” said Mike Jones, senior vice president of NTT DATA, Inc. “NTT DATA is pleased to have the opportunity to partner with CareOne as a systems integrator and manage their software needs allowing them to focus on their top priority of quality patient care.”
